Hanumant Vishnutirth Adavi

Academic affiliation: B.E.(Hons.) in Civil Engineering, M.E.(Structural Engg.), Ph.D (C.Engg., IIT, Mumbai), LL.B., Ph.D (Philosophy), Ph.D (Sanskrit).

 

After years of experience in field work, entered the teaching profession. Have taught for over 30 years at all levels from the first year to Master's level, applied mechanics and allied subjects (including structural engg.). Guided research work at Postgraduate level. Retired as Principal of a govt Engineering College in Maharashtra. Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India), Fellow of the Indian Council of Arbitration (Retd), Fellow of the Institute of Valuers.

Role in the Project: Was inducted into the Bhagavata Purana project by the project leaders, Prof Ravi Gupta and Dr. Kenneth Valpey, and was asked to prepare a write-up on the concordance  of the Bhagavata Project with Spiritual Texts, especially the vedic.Could do the work under the guidance of both the leaders, esp. Prof Ravi Gupta. Had to refer mainly to Maurice Bloomfield's Vedic Concordance, besides the relevant downloads of mantras,etc.Have presented a paper on the Place of Harinamamrita Vyakarana in the field of Sanskrit Grammar at the State Level conference at the Pune University. Also published a paper on the same subject in the International Journal of Sanskrit.
